Europe One Way Car Hire?

I am looking to travel to Europe several times this year. I would like to do a couple of one way car hire trips, ie fly into one airport pick up a car then fly out of a different airport and dropping off the rental car.
I have no real preference to locations as long as it is a able to be done in a relaxing weekend.
Any advice?
Companies used?
Money saving ideas?
Many Thanks

All of the major rental companies will allow you to do one ways but only on a per country basis, not continent wide.

Some companies charge for different drop offs, and it usually varies by location. The same companies are all over Europe as anywhere else in the world, although you may be able to find a small company that does local car hire. Your company/school/club may have a deal with one particular hire company, so check that out since it can save you some money, although do check out alternatives since this isn’t always the best deal.
You should also consider the cost of flying into one airport and out of another – it’s often much cheaper to use the same airport.
If you’re looking for suggestions for trips, try flying into Milan and driving to Rome (or similar), although Italian roads are definitely not for the faint-hearted! You haven’t said where in Europe you’d like to visit, nor where you’re from (although I imagine it’s the US of A). Cars over here are smaller and lanes narrower and we drive much faster than in the US, so be prepared. Hire cars also often have stick shift, so remember to specify automatic if that’s what you want.
